2023 Sports Hall of Fame Inductee

Craig Presnall moved into Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD from nearby Birdville in 7th grade. He attended Bedford Junior High, where he participated on the football, basketball, and track teams.
Once Craig moved on to L.D. Bell High School in the fall of 1980, he found homes on both the football field and the baseball diamond. There Craig earned two letters in football, three letters in baseball, and received numerous accolades for his athletic achievements before graduating fr om L.D. Bell in the spring of 1983.

On the athletic field as a Blue Raider, Craig was a key part of two very special teams his senior year: the 1982 state finalist football team and the 1983 regional semifinalist baseball team. Forty years later, both teams are still regarded among the best in Bell’s history.
While serving as a captain and team leader, Craig quarterbacked the football team to a 14-1-1 record, including the UIL 5A state championship game in the Houston Astrodome. Along the way, the Blue Raiders played in the old Texas Stadium in Irving four times – winning on all four occasions. These match-ups included two wins over archrival Trinity, once for the district championship when both teams entered the game with undefeated 9-0 records, and then a month later in the state quarter-finals where Bell advanced 4 to 2 on penetrations.

Based on his quarterback performance that record setting season, Craig earned a host of honors including All-District, All-Area, All-Tarrant County, All-Metro, All-Greater Dallas, All-Northeast Tarrant County Player of the Year, Dallas Morning News Player of the Year, 2nd Team All-State, and starting quarterback of the DFW All-Star football game.
As a varsity pitcher and outfielder for the baseball team, Craig was a three-time All-District performer and was selected as All-Area and All-Metro in both his junior and senior seasons. Like with football, Craig played a big part in the success of the ‘83 baseball team, which advanced to the third round of the playoff s in El Paso.

Craig is very grateful for the positive impact HEB ISD had on his life. As he reflects back, he feels blessed to have been surrounded by great coaches and teachers, and many great friends and teammates. Some of Craig’s fondest memories are being a part of the outstanding programs at Bedford and L.D. Bell and making lifelong friends with his teammates and coaches along the way.
Upon graduation from L.D. Bell, Craig attended Baylor University and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Craig took that degree and founded a veterinary telemedicine company in 2012 which he still owns today.

Craig lives in Fort Worth with his beautiful wife. He has four girls ranging in age from 18 to 29, along with two son-in laws, and has hopes of becoming a grandfather someday soon. When he is not working, you will find him on the golf course, snow skiing, hunting, and spending time with family.
