Elizabeth Buffo Berry was born May 31, 1966. She was a volleyball and basketball star at LD Bell High school from 1981 to 1984. In her Sophomore year in Volleyball her accomplishments were All District First Team; All-Tournament Team: HEB, Birdville; All Greater Dallas Honorable Mention; Dallas Sophomore of the Year. In Basketball: All District Honorable Mention and All Area Honorable Mention.
Elizabeth’s Junior year in Volleyball: All District First Team; All-Tournament Team: Berkner, Birdville; Honorable Mention: All greater Dallas. In Basketball: All District First Team; All Area First Team; All Region 2nd Team; All Tarrant County First Team; All-Tournament Team: HEB; All N.E. Tarrant County First Team. Senior year, she was voted Miss Bell High School. Her accomplishments in Volleyball that year: All District First Team; All Greater Dallas 2nd Team; All-Tournament Team: Arlington, MVP HEB, Best Hitter Birdville; Texas Coaches’ North-South All-Star Team; Who’s Who in Volleyball. In Basketball: First Team All-District, District MVP; All Tarrant County First Team; All-Tournament Team: Birdville; Texas Coaches’ East-West All-Star Team; Texas Junior Olympic Basketball Team, National Championship Tournament; Who’s Who in Basketball. Following high school, Elizabeth received a full scholarship to Texas A&M for Basketball where she played for two years. As a freshman, she was on the starting team. Elizabeth passed away on December 23, 2013. August 9, 2014, she was inducted into the LD Bell High School Athletic Hall of Fame and her Volleyball jersey #33 was retired. |
