Paul Shabay attended schools in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD from kindergarten through his 1987 graduation from L.D. Bell High School. At Bell, he played varsity football all three years and achieved numerous honors including: 1986 All-District linebacker; State Semi-Finalist; Team Captain and All-District and 7-5A Defensive player of the year. Paul was also All-Area and Mid-Cities Daily News Player of the Year; All-Tarrant County and Fort Worth Star Telegram Player of the Year; the Dallas Morning News and the Dallas Times Herald All-Star Team and Defensive Player of the Year; Texas Sports Writers 5A All State First Team. In 1987, Paul was named the Most Valuable Player in the Texas High School Coaches All-Star Game.
Paul attended Texas Christian University on an athletic scholarship. In 1987-1988, Paul was honored as TCU’s Outstanding Athlete of the Year. After graduation, Paul coached football at Euless Junior High and L.D. Bell High School. While Paul coached in HEB schools, he served as a leader in the Young Life activities. Currently, Paul is the Strength Coach at Keller High School. |
