Laura attended the Hurst Junior High where she participated in volleyball, basketball, track and cross-country and graduated from L.D. Bell High School. Laura excelled at volleyball serving as team captain and receiving the honors of All-District and Setter of the Year. She also ran track and played softball in a Hurst League that finished as State Runner-up. Laura attended Baylor University on a volleyball scholarship. While at Baylor she lettered in softball too. After transferring to Texas Wesleyan University, Laura earned her Bachelor’s degree and then a Master’s degree from Texas Women’s University.
Laura’s outstanding coaching career continues to make history as it passes 24 years of hard work and dedication. For 21 years of her coaching career she has been a Head Softball Coach and she has served 10 years as a Girls Athletic Coordinator. She has coached at Crowley High School in Crowley ISD where she was inducted into the Crowley Athletic Hall of Fame, Fossil Ridge High School in Keller ISD and is currently at Timber Creek High School, also in Keller ISD, where she has been since 2009. Through the years, Laura has enjoyed many notable accomplishments for her coaching abilities. As a coach, she has 300 career wins, 9 play-off appearances, 5 District Championships, 9 Bi-District Finalist, 7 Area Finalists, 3 Regional Quarter-Finalist, 2 Regional Semi-Finalist, 2 Regional Finalist, 2 State Semi-Finalist and “Back to Back” State Championships in 2003 and 2004. Laura is an ASA All-Star Coach, four times District Coach of the Year, two time Regional Coach of the Year and Texas Coach of the Year awarded by the National Federation of State High Schools. Currently, Laura is the Girls Athletic Coordinator and Head Softball Coach. |
