Leon attended Central Junior High and Trinity High School. He played basketball and football at Trinity High School from 1989 to 1992. In basketball, Leon played forward and was All-District in 1990 and 1991. In football, Leon played Tight End and was All-District, All-Area and All-Region in 1989, 1990 and 1991. In 1991 Super-Prep magazine selected Leon as their All-American football player.
Leon was highly recruited by most Division I universities across the country. Notre Dame University offered Leon a football scholarship where he excelled in the position of Tight End. Leon was a four-year letterman at Notre Dame. In 1996 NFL Draft, he was selected as an Unrestricted Free Agent by the Indianapolis Colts. Unfortunately, a spinal injury during training ended his NFL career. Currently, Leon coaches and mentors young athletes. Leon owns and operates Believe Basketball and Football. Believe is an organization specializing in the development of young men who desire excel in athletics. The development plan focuses on three aspects: mental, physical and spiritual growth and development. Believe is a faith-based organization that mentors athletes and is designed to grow the athletes from “Good to Great”. |
