T.J. attended Euless Junior High School in 1988 where he was Student Council President, Mr. EJH, Athlete of the Year, and Most Outstanding Student. In 1989, T.J. represented Tarrant County at the United Nations. He attended Trinity High School where he was President of the Student Council and participated in football, baseball, soccer and golf. In 1990 while playing in a football game, T.J. was seriously injured leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. Since 1992, T.J. has been a positive influence on the greater Hurst Euless Bedford community and beyond. He has often been an invited motivational speaker at HEB schools, churches and other various organizations regarding positive attitude, goal setting and overcoming adversities. Beginning in 2005-2013 T.J. was proudly involved with “Trojan Talk” at Trinity High School.
T.J. has been a Board Member (2002-2007) and President (2010) of Neuro Fitness Foundation, a well equipment gym providing physical and emotional support for qualified clients free of charge. Since becoming president of NFF in 2010, their attendance and donations have quadruped. As of 2013, T.J. works with the Christopher Reeves Foundation as a peer mentor program coordinator. He trains volunteer mentors to be certified with the Christopher Reeves Foundation. Also, T.J. mentors newly disabled individuals and their families. T.J. is an inspiration and his contributions to the HEB community are truly phenomenal! |
