Steve Bayuk attended Wilshire Elementary, Central Junior High and graduated from Trinity High School in 1975. Steve was the starting star quarterback at Trinity High School for 1973, 1973 and 1974.
Steve received a full athletic scholarship to Texas Christian University (TCU). In 1976, 1977 and 1978, Steve was the starting quarterback for TCU, as well as the team captain in 1977 and 1978 Steve’s honors at TCU included: ranked 2nd in Southwest Conference for total offense; Honorable Mention All-American Team; and was ranked as a top all-time passing leaders. In 1979, Steve graduated from TCU with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. That same year, he was drafted by Central Football League (CFL) Calgary Stampeders. Then in 1980, as a free agent, Steve signed with the New Orleans Saints. After retiring from professional football, Steve was a teacher and a coach. He coached baseball at L.D. Bell High School and then he transferred into a football coaching position at Trinity High School before moving Salida High School where he was the quarterback coach and the Athletic Coordinator. His volunteer activities in the community involved coaching Mid Cities Pee-Wee Football, HEB Football Camp and coached at Central Junior High, LD Bell High School and Trinity High School. Steve married his high school sweetheart, Susan, “the woman of his dreams”. They have two sons, Chris and Chase, and four beautiful grandchildren. Born April 4, 1957 |
